Delete Your Data

You don't have to delete your CookIt account to remove your data. This page explains what you can delete yourself from inside the app, and how to request a full data wipe while keeping your account.

What you can delete yourself

Individual content

You can remove any item you've created, at any time:

Profile information

To clear or change your profile:

  1. Go to ProfileEdit Profile.
  2. Remove or update your display name, bio, or avatar.
  3. Tap Save.

Search history

Your recent searches are stored only on your device. To clear them:

  1. Profile → menu (≡) → Privacy Settings.
  2. Tap Clear Search History.

Push notification tokens

Sign out, or disable notifications in your device's system settings. Your device's push token is removed from our servers when you sign out.

Download a copy of your data first

Before deleting anything in bulk, you can export everything we hold about you:

  1. Profile → menu (≡) → Privacy Settings.
  2. Tap Download My Data.
  3. You'll get a JSON file (cookit-export-<timestamp>.json) containing your profile, recipes, comments, likes, bookmarks, follows, and blocks.

Request a full data wipe (without deleting your account)

If you want us to delete all of your content while keeping your sign-in, email us:

We'll confirm the request, complete the deletion within 30 days, and reply when it's done.
